Children in Tower Hamlets wanting to try rugby this season will have the

opportunity to sign up to Millwall Rugby Club on Sunday 5th of September, as the

club holds a registration day, starting at 12pm at their clubhouse on Millwall

The day will include a BBQ lunch and will provide the opportunity to meet the

new coaches and team managers for the coming season, as well as purchase

necessary training equipment for the coming season.

Membership for juniors costs just 10 for the whole season and includes a free

The registration day coincides with the launch of the youth section's new

mission statement, which reads:

"We will provide the opportunity for any child, irrespective of ability or

background, to learn the game, play the game and love the game."

Youth Chair Matt Shorrock said the Mission Statement was an accurate

representation of the direction of the club:

"The mission statement was us really just putting what we already do in writing"

he continued "but with the added benefit of constantly reminding us why we are

here and why we volunteer so much time to the cause"

The Isle of Dogs club will field teams in U10s, U12s, U15s and Colts (U19s) this

season, and is looking for new players of all ages and experience, as they look

to introduce more youngsters to the sport.
