Teignmouth will end the season with a respectable 6 points, but it means they finish bottom and are relegated to Devon one with Honiton and Wessex, after only their second home win of the season.

What it gives the Teigns is a springboard for next term and with plans in place, new players signed and others lined up their time in Devon one should be limited to one season.

Crediton had the first points on the board,Stuart Pickard kicked them ahead with an early penalty, and as both teams struggled with the driving rain and strong winds. It was on the half hour when stand-off Ivan Pitman received the ball from scrum half Steffan Walker and crashed over to score, although Dan Force missed the Conversion,he made up for it on the break when he kicked 3 points after Crediton were caught off side.

The home side now had the wind behind them and on 50 minutes,Chris Tidman scored a text book try straight from the training ground,a well worked line out saw the ball move along the backs Tidman took it at pace and ran 40 metres to score in the corner, although the conversion was missed.

All the bitton park outfit had to do was hold out,and keep the ball, this worked well with the forwards gaining lots of territory, skipper Andy Kinmond and No.8 Colin Aldworth were instrumental in this as they were last week at Falmouth.

The visitors got the home crowd nervous when flanker George Savage broke from a rolling maul to score with Pickard scoring the extras, but the Teigns held out for the final whistle.

Next Saturday touring side Berry Hill visit Teignmouth for a 3 pm kick off and on Sunday Bishopston are also on tour with a 2 pm start.
