Skipper Mike Leavey 's side made in 5 in a row with a 22 -7 away victory at Stamford to end the season . The post christmas results have demonstrated the level the players can work at , and the string of injuries and selection difficulties which bedevilled the club and coaching staff in the later months of 2007 have meant relegation as the third from bottom is confirmed .

The game gave the chance for second team players and youngsters to join members of the first team squad . The pitch was hard and the wind fierce , this caused open play to be restricted with passess either dieing or being gusted sideways . Line outs which were strictly enforced became not stright scrummages ...

Stamford quickly realised hamians intent to run the ball and succedded in slowing the ball tactics , to frustrate . The difficlutly in handlng in the wind meant the traditional off load passing game was breaking down .

Scrummages with big rich slipping in at hooker , were brutual with Stamford wheeled and shunted all afternoon . Rich went off with a sore neck late in the first half and Tom and Danity also had a go .

Being asked to de power your scrummage for the second week in a row by the official , is not as easy as it seems ,with both props receiving Dwain Chambers like hamstring tweaks as things progressed .

They had two yellows , second row and stand off , we had the skipper at full back ..so much for a friendly

scorers were , luke with a brace , caluum and big sticky ...Craig sloted one conversion . How he did not score a try after a barnstorming charge off the wing , skittlimg defenders like nine pins is a mystrey ..

Still an away win and tour on the horizon to Amsterdam

Hamians seconds are still in contention for the pennant title although it is dependent on others results .
