The kick off to this Dorset & Wilts. south game which resulted in a narrow 19 points to 15 Weymouth defeat at the Seasiders' Monmouth Avenue ground had to be delayed to allow club president Des Quick (right of picture) to clean up dog mess from the playing surface before the proceedings could get underway.

Mr Quick said: "We have two brand new pitches with a fence that completely encloses the ground and still dogs are allowed to deposit their mess on the playing surfaces and it has to stop, We walked the pitch a good half hour before the kicked off and thought that we had removed it all, but obviously we hadn't".

"I would appeal to all dog owners who use our land to exercise their animals to please keep off the pitches. On Sunday mornings there are up to a hundred children running around the club at mini rugby games and we don't want them to end up covered in dog mess".
