Sevenoaks U17 26

GD Direito 14

Having toured in France and Ireland, it was Sevenoaks' opportunity to host GD Direito from Lisbon on Sunday.

Despite early pressure, Sevenoaks could not make it count on the scoreboard as solid defence from the Portugese kept the score nil nil.

GD Direito soon showed why they are unbeaten this season with some great play by their swift backline which put them deep in the home sides 22. A quick pick up from the International No 8 saw him power through the defence to score a converted try. A further converted try followed from the same player and the home side went in at half time in deep trouble at 14 nil down.

A few tactical switches and now playing with the wind saw Sevenoaks play with greater intensity; Thompson's powerful surges gave them great go forward and soon the pressure told. Hooker, Owen went over, quickly followed by centre Beale, before the try of the match when the ball went through numerous hands to find the prop Walker who galloped in from 15 metres. Sevenoaks were now showing the greater hunger and Nohre capitalised on some tentative defending to score the final try. Shirtcliff converted 3 of the 4 tries to seal a great comeback and win 26 - 14.
