WEYMOUTH maintained their 100 per cent record in Dorset & Wilts One South with a routine win over Frome Seconds.

The Seasiders raced into a 21-0 half-time lead thanks to two tries from Will Quick and a single touchdown by Will Hughes – all of which converted by the boot of Tim Peplow.

A low-key second period saw the visitors grab a consolation try at Wey Valley School before Dave Allan completed the victory with another converted score.

Weymouth skipper Mark Sample said: “We dominated the game in the first half. Will Quick scored two tries in quick succession and then we got a third through Will Hughes, who in my opinion was our man of the match.

“They came at us in the second half and made life difficult, as they weren’t just going to lie down for the full 80 minutes. We didn’t perform particularly well in the second half and we conceded a soft try.

“But for the third game in succession, Dave Allan ran in to score between the posts. Tim Peplow converted all the tries and his kicking so far has been spot on.

“All in all it was a good result for us, especially as we lost this fixture last season.”

Sample has also been impressed with his side’s rock-solid defence, which has leaked just five points in 160 minutes.

He added: “In the league we’ve only conceded one try, which is very positive, so I’m happy with how the defence is playing.”
