On Saturday (29 March) the ones are at home against the league champions Loughborough Students, kick off 3pm. We need one more win to be 100% certain of not being relegated and the boys are up for the challenge against the league champions.

We still need someone to do the gate for this so please respond if you can and help us out.

Prior to the game there is our annual Sponsors Lunch which is 12.30 for 1pm start. There is some room for non sponsors and if you fancy attending then please contact Peter Blakeman.

Our twos are at home to Bromsgrove and the scheduled third XV game has been cancelled due to their participation in the South Warwickshire Vets Tournament on Sunday 30th at Old Leamingtonians.

Also on Sunday our colts are playing in the first round proper of the Warwickshire Colts Cup, 2pm kick off at home v Earlsdon and hopefully (weather permitting) on the main pitch.

Can I remind you of the Pirates 30th Birthday celebrations which kick off in two weeks with a Sporting Dinner (John Bentley) on the 10th and a Ball on the 12th. These events are being held in a Marquee next to the clubhouse and are black tie/posh frocks events. There is still time to book your place at these events by contacting Adrian Marsh.

On Sunday 13th the Pirates then take on a Wooden Spoon Select and this is being combined with a Beer Festival at the club.

Another interesting day at the club will be next Sat when we have an Andy Clarke over 60s Select v a Tim Hunt over 50s Select (give or take a few years) to celebrate Andys coming of age. More details on this, including guest appearances, next week.

The AGM has been fixed for 25th June and it would be nice to see a full house at the club

Due to circumstances outside our control we have had to raise beer prices by 10p a pint. If you think this is bad then the Virgins and Castle in Kenilworth have raised them by 20p!

We are continuing to have a dog problem, particularly at the Cow Patch. Our new groundsman Geof, and anyone else, has been given permission to throw dog walkers out of the Cow patch area when he sees them there. Please note that for watching matches etc dogs will be tolerated but only if they are kept on a lead and are under control.

You may recall that to encourage sales of our Xmas Raffle tickets we offered some free beer. Please note that if this offer is not taken up by the end of April then it will lapse. Steward Ian has a list of those who requested their beer tokens.

That nice little Vauxhall Astra diesel is still for sale and is available at the club to view. No sensible offer refused see Ian Hadwin.
