Wasps Ladies, Michaela Staniford and Jo McGilchrist return to the club this week after winning an unprecedented third successive Six Nations Grand Slam. The Wasps have played in every Six Nations match this season and are thrilled to have secured the Grand Slam after beating Ireland 17 – 7. Michaela Staniford, England Wing said “It’s so exciting, this is such a great team and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”

There’s more good news for the Wasps Ladies as a new sponsorship agreement is announced today.

The partnership between Wasps Ladies and First Class Business Solutions (FCBS) looks to provide new opportunities for Girls to play rugby at the club. Wasps Ladies has an ambitious development plan in place and is keen to grow the club from their well established and successful roots. FCBS is excited to work with Wasps Ladies, as they too are in the process of growing their business.

FCBS is a family run business with over 50 employees, based in Hertfordshire, the company has expanded into new offices in Hemel Hempstead and Tunbridge Wells. FCBS specialises in document management solutions and network service provision. The company is committed to supporting community charities, schools and sports clubs. Adrian Baxter, FCBS Managing Director said, “sport should be a key part of young people’s lives, and rugby represents the values we believe in as an organisation. Teamwork, trust and communication are critical to our success”.

Claire Purdy, Wasps Ladies Chair is excited about the joint venture. “This is a great opportunity for an amateur club to secure a long-term partnership, which will assist with the development and sustainability of the Ladies section. We are committed to providing rugby for junior girls, and look forward to helping them to enjoy rugby and hopefully follow in the footsteps of many of our current and previous players, who have represented their country”.
