MILLWALL Rugby Clubs burgeoning youth section enjoyed another milestone on Sunday (December 21) with a maiden win for its Under 15s side.

In only their sixth ever fixture the youngsters took on Upminster at home on Millwall Park and came from behind, notching almost 50 points on their way to victory.

Head coach Scott Vinnicombe said of the win: Im delighted and its a testament to all the hard work the lads have put in since the start of the season. To go home for Christmas with the taste of victory is a fabulous present for all the boys.

Id name our skipper Charlie Brennand and our lightning winger Imo, who scored a hat trick, among the outstanding performers today. It was a thrilling game and we cannot wait to come back and play again after the break.

The games scoreline yo-yoed throughout the first half with neither side claiming a convincing lead, and at the break Upminster led by a conversion.

The same pattern set the tone for the second half until Millwall broke away, scoring try after try, with kicker Jason Thompson adding eight points from his boot to put in place a measure of comfort between the two sides.
