Teignmouth’s under 10’s produced a determined performance to overcome a much larger and aggressive Honiton team to give them their eighth straight win this season and leaves them unbeaten for the season. The start of the match was very even with Honiton taking the lead then Teignmouth levelled through Jamie Kelly with a typical storming run. As the game went on Teignmouth kept Honiton in their half but were finding it hard to break through to score and the score stayed level until just before half time when Jason Jervis ran on to a pass from Nick Langley-Pope to score in the corner and give Teignmouth a 10 points to 5 half time lead.

The second half started with a bang with Dan Woolnough scoring straight from the restart beating the hole Honiton team on the way and then Freddie Fernley scored running in from halfway after a penalty move. Dan then scored his second as did Honiton, Teignmouth’s Tom Carr then had a tri disallowed when he seemed to drop the ball while putting it down and the final tri of the match went to Henry Annal who forced his way over from close range.

A second match was played to allow all the lads a game and again it was a tight match with Honiton scoring the winner with a minute left to play making the score 10 points to 15. Teignmouth’s tri scores were Jamie Kelly and Levi Rootham.
