MILLWALL Rugby Club kept up their winning streak when they travelled to Burnham-on-Crouch on Saturday (Dec 6) and won by a staggering 80points to nil.

The weekend's win makes it eight from eight in Essex Division Two for the Isle of Dogs men, and takes them one step closer to the goal of promotion.

Speaking after the game Millwall centre Tan Parsons said: "To go to Burnham and win by such a margin without conceding is a good result. It's been a tough fixture in the past but today they just didn't have much of an answer. Our forwards had to work hard in the second half to keep them out once or twice but that was it really. To be fair to Burnham they never lost heart and played with good spirit.

"We want to win this league and to do it without losing. That has to be the goal now. There are one or two banana skin matches that could cost us and we will be concentrating hard to land knockout blows against our remaining opponents early on in games."

On Saturday Millwall's smaller pack was made to toil against the heavy Burnham forwards throughout the game but whenever the ball was obtained Millwall's outside backs cut the lumbering Burnham defence to shreds.

Outstanding wingers Naz Mohammed (with two tries) and Dan Lawrence (with four) showed dazzling turns of pace and touched down almost at will against a side that just couldn't compete with their ground speed.

Millwall's man of the match was fly half Dom Sutherland who notched 20points of his own with 10 successful conversions from 12 attempts.

Sutherland said afterwards: "We've had a bit of a joke about it with the boys but we think my kicking today was down to my new gumshield which is pink - we think it's a lucky gumshield."
