Your News Weymouth 41 - Wimborne 10

The Seasiders had to bide their time in order to break down a spirited Wimborne side containing 13 players under 20 years of age, but their patience paid off and as the time ebbed away the youngster just ran out of steam.

Four tries from Weymouths Kiwi flanker Stuart Whyte who was returning to the starting fifteen following an injury that he picked up at Bridport a month ago was the catalyst for their victory, with more tries coming from prop Lian Berry, left wing three quarter Iain MacConnachie and skipper and number 8 Tony Worle.

Full back Dave Allan chipped in with a pair of conversions with replacement lock Sam Polley adding a third.

For the visitors centre Paul Ryder crossed for a touchdown and fly half Henry Wareham added a conversion to an earlier penalty goal.

After the game Worle said: All credit to Winborne they posed some problems early doors, but our experience and superior strength in the forwards drained their resolve and we took control after the break. Some of our support play today was as good as it has been since I have been at the club, when we had a man tackled there was somebody in support to receive the ball, but there is still room for improvement if we want to be in with a chance of promotion at the end of the season.
