ORGANISERS of the National Colts Cup competitions have given clubs more time to play their fourth round matches in both the Cup and Plate because of adverse weather conditions.

All fourth round ties were due to be completed by January 27 but the recent snow and frost combined with heavy rain before Christmas has caused a fixture backlog.

The East Midlands RU, who run both competitions, have now agreed to give clubs until Sunday February 24 to complete delayed fourth round matches.

The fifth round of both the Cup and the Plate is now scheduled to be completed by Sunday March 24.

National Colts Cup and Plate matches take precedence over local competitions.

National Colts Cup, fourth round (Midlands and North): Derby v Dudley Kingswinford, Buckingham v Paviors, Wharfedale v West Park Leeds, Lichfield v Wellingborough. Byes: Billingham, Luctonians, Percy Park, Worcester Wanderers.

National Colts Plate, fourth round (Midlands and North): Doncaster v Ryton, Northampton Casuals v Nuneaton or Kidderminster Carolians, Westoe v Malton & Norton, Carlisle v Middlesbrough, Twickenham v Old Northamptonians, Moseley v Walsall or Melbourne, Heath v Hereford. Bye: Kettering.
