LADY Luck has been kind to three of the four Northern pairings battling for honours in the Under 18 and Under 15 Cup sections of this season's Daily Mail RBS Schools competition.

While the bad weather has wrecked plans to have the two Cup competitions through to the last eight by last week, the four Northern teams still on track for a Quarter-final slot at Under 18 level all have the incentive of knowing that another win will be rewarded with a home tie at the next stage.

Three of the four Under 18 Cup contenders still standing are from Cheshire and with Wirral Grammar School entertaining King's Macclesfield in one of the pairings, a Cheshire presence is guaranteed at the next stage.

Warwick School, winners of the Under 18 Cup in 2007, will visit the winners.

Cheshire representation will be doubled if Wilmslow High can make home advantage count when they entertain high-flying Durham School in their delayed Round Six match, the winners of the King's Worcester/Northampton School for Boys tie battling for the right to visit the North West.

In the U15 Cup quarter final fixtures, North A winners Bishop Heber or Bradford GS get home advantage when they tackle London & SE B winners Whitgift or St Pauls, but the winners of the North pairing of Kings Granthan and QEGS Wakefield will go on the road against either London Oratory or Maidstone GS as the winner of London & SE.

In the two Vase competitions, all the Northern teams are scheduled to travel at the Quarter-final stage, although who that will be is very uncertain with so many games being postponed because of the weather and pitch conditions.

The U18 Vase competition is yet to see even one team confirmed in the quarter finals with qualifying games still to take place and 22 teams fighting out for a passage through. No matter who the results fall, the Northern team still afloat will be paddling to an away venue in the Quarter-finals.

In the Under 15 Vase, Old Swinford Hospital or John Cleveland College will entertain either Kirkham or Yarm, while Tadcaster School's place in the last eight is secure following a win over Stockport Grammar, but they await a string of ties before they know where they will be heading in the next round.

The Daily Mail RBS quarter-finals are scheduled to take place next week, with the Semi-finals at Broadstreet RFC and broadcast LIVE on RFU.com as follows: U18 Cup, March 2, 11am & 1pm; U18 Vase, March 3, 11am & 1pm; U15 Cup, March 9, 11am & 1pm; U15 Vase, March 10, 11am & 1pm; Tickets prices: 3 Adults, 1 Juniors.
