STOURBRIDGE Lions, the holders of the Midlands Senior Vase, have been drawn away to Stamford in this season’s regional semi-finals, the fifth round of the RFU Senior Vase.

The Lions beat Kesteven 41-0 at home in the Midlands quarter-final earlier this month and now face a trip to Lincolnshire on January 19.

There is one place to be decided in the Midlands semi-finals of the RFU Intermediate Cup following Bedworth’s expulsion from the competition for not following the correct procedure in notifying the match referee for their third round tie against Oadby Wyggestonians.

Bedworth’s appeal was rejected by a Midlands Leagues Organising Committee but Oadby Wyggestonians’ fourth round tie (Midlands quarter-final) at Kenilworth was delayed while the appeal process was completed.

The winners of the Kenilworth v Oadby Wyggestonians tie will have home advantage against Coalville in the Midlands semi-finals.

RFU Cup competitions fifth round (Midlands semi-finals) draws:

RFU Intermediate Cup: Kenilworth or Oadby Wyggestonians v Coalville, Wolverhampton v Old Laurentians.

RFU Senior Vase: Rushden & Higham v Old Leamingtonians, Stamford v Stourbridge Lions.

RFU Junior Vase: Old Yardleians v Bedford Swifts, St Ives v Harbury.

All ties to be played on January 19.
