Your News Blues set for Leeds challenge

Bedford Blues will be hoping to make it three wins in a row this weekend but know that they face a huge challenge in the form of Leeds on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues wouldn't have been expecting a fixture at Cross Green this season but with Headingley not quite ready for Championship rugby, a trip to the home of Otley is always welcome for players and fans alike.

Bedford have been dealt a serious injury blow after it was revealed that centre Henry Staff will be out of action for four months after rupturing his bicep during the game against Cornish Pirates last weekend. Staff joins Ollie Dodge (ankle), Ricky Reeves (back) and Tom Armes (back) on the casualty list at Goldington Road.

Looking ahead to the fixture, Blues forwards coach Martin Hynes said: "The lads put in a very good performance against the Pirates last weekend and we are going to need another impressive display if we are going to take anything off Leeds who have won their last three games.

"The lads have had an extra couple of days recovery this week and everyone has looked extremely sharp in training so there's no reason we cannot take something from the game if we stick to the game plan. Leeds have an impressive set of players and Diccon has them playing some really good rugby at the minute, so I think it could be a very good game."
