Ealing returned to the top of SSE National League One after they won 41-5 away to Loughborough Students while Rosslyn Park were beaten at Wharfedale. Sam Shires and Sam Wardingley both scored a brace of tries and further scores from Rory Damant and Tom Wheatcroft earned Ealing their 12th try-bonus point of the campaign. The win puts them three points ahead of Park who succumbed to a 33-24 loss in the Yorkshire Dales. The boot of Lloyd Davies was influential in Wharfedale’s sixth win of the season, the winger kicking three penalties and two conversions as well as scoring a try for an 18-point haul.

Blaydon are still within a win of top spot after making it seven wins on the bounce against the division’s bottom club Cambridge. Micky Ward’s men scored seven tries in a 39-12 victory that draws them level with Rosslyn Park on 50 points.

Cambridge remain five points adrift of Macclesfield at the foot of the table as the Blues returned home from a trip to Esher without any points. Fourth-placed Esher won 35-3, scoring all bar seven of their points before the interval. Full-back Charlie Walker contributed two of his side’s five tries.

Inconsistent Fylde put 50 points on Richmond at the Woodlands to bounce back in fine style from their 45-point hammering at the hands of Tynedale the week before. Winger Ben Rath scored two of their seven tries, six of which were converted by fly-half Chris Johnson who also added a penalty.

Both sides gained try-bonus points at Park Lane where Cinderford beat hosts Sedgley Park 39-29. A hat-trick of tries from Tom Bozzard and scores from Joe Smart and replacement George Evans ensured the Forresters earned all five points. Full-back Andrew Riley and No.8 Juan Crous both bagged a brace of tries apiece to ensure Tigers were at least rewarded for their efforts with a point.

Old Albanians made it five straight wins with a 20-3 victory against Coventry, while Blackheath also won at home: 21-14 v Tynedale.
