Your News Kenilworth Colts beat Southam

Kenilworth Colts recorded a satisfying win over

a Southam side who have posted some very good results in recent weeks.

The returning Harry O'Brien and Tom Withers bolstered the ranks and

gave excellent performances after a lengthy lay off through injury. The

first half was an evenly matched affair with Kenilworth posting the

first score when a well executed catch and drive was finished off by

Patrick Jenkinson. Nick Prince scuffed the conversion. Though well in

control for long periods, Kenilworth gifted Southam attacking

opportunities through poor decision making and some slipshod tackling

and the visitors took advantage to gain an equalising score. The second

half began brightly for the K's and Jenkinson added to his tally with a

drive to the line following sustained pressure from both scrum and

lineout. Prince added the extras and took Kenilworth two scores ahead

with a straightforward penalty goal. Better was to come from the

mercurial scrum half with a booming penalty kick from 45 metres to make

the score 18-5. The coup de grace was applied with minutes remaining

when Jenkinson's audacious dummy and pass was carried on by the

tireless Sean Martin to feed winger James Alty who finished with aplomb

in the corner. Prince added the extras with a sumptuous conversion from

the touchline, leaving the final score at 25-5.
