On Saturday the 1st VX took a well deserved rest while a fired up Sevenoaks II's team went to Old Colfeians to secure a resounding 54 - 5 win. The team has struggled in recent months due to injuries but finally got a win under their belt in the new year after losing to Gravesend IIs and Old Alleyians IIs, in the last play of each game, on successive weekends. The team was bolstered by the return of injured players - tight head prop Ben Aspinall, number eight Dan Scott and fullback Charlie Roberts all of whom played their part in a dynamic team performance.

Peter Wilson, the caretaker Captain and pack leader, said "I was proud of the boys, particularly the pack, whose scrummaging and defensive play was the best I have been involved with all season. We need to build on this platform in the weeks to come".

At Tonbridge –Juddians the Acorns made it a double win against their fierce rivals with a good 17-7 win, no thanks to scrumhalf Kavanagh who had his conversion in front of the posts charged down by the opposition prop!

At the Paddock the Sevenoaks BXV welcomed many new faces to the fold for their first outing in 2012 against old foe, Maidstone 5ths. This fixture has seen many great matches down the years and this was no exception: skipper Steve England led the charge with his trademark sidestep against a strong Maidstone side that included Seal Brothers Simon and Rob who switched allegiance from Sevenoaks for an undisclosed sum over the summer. Despite trailing at half time, a spirited comeback in the second half brought the BXV their first points of the season and, with the game delicately poised at 10-15, were pushing for an unlikely victory. Unfortunately they were unable to turn pressure into points and in the closing minutes Maidstone scored again to deservedly take the honours 22-10.
