A brace of tries from Reuben Haile took the former Gloucester Academy wing two clear at the top of the division’s try- scoring charts (with 14) and helped

Taunton to 46-23 win at home to Westcombe Park on a day when those killed in military conflict and in last week’s tragic M5 motorway accident were

remembered. A good- sized crowd was then treated to an entertaining spectacle once play got underway, Taunton scoring six tries to Park’s two. Jason Luff

matched Haile with two tries of his own, while Joe Bartlett and David Bates also touched down for the Somerset side.

At the top of the table, Richmond bounced back from defeat at the hands of Worthing the previous week to beat Launceston. Steve Hill’s men remain four

points clear of The Raiders, who had Matt McLean (20 points) and a determined rearguard action to thank for victory. Worthing played out virtually the whole

of the second half without flanker Sam Hewick, who was red- carded on 46 minutes.

All of the top five sides bar Hartpury College won with bonus points on Saturday, with The Students grateful to hang on for a 14-11 win over rapidly- improving

Dings. Old Albanians were convincing 50-7 winners over Redruth; wing Ollie Marchon grabbing a hat- trick, while Henley won at Lydney to make it five home

defeats in a row for the Gloucestershire outfit.

Elsewhere, scrum- half Sam Arnott saw red as Southend went down to a 30-12 defeat at Clifton and Hertford won at home to Shelford.
