Your News Minchinhampton 35 - Gloucester Civil Service 20

MINCHINHAMPTON'S second league game of the season ended in victory against old rivals Gloucester Civil Service.

Minchinhampton started promisingly with the front row of Wood, Evans and Pollard making life difficult for their opposite numbers.

The pressure became too much for the Service to handle and a cynical infringement allowed Nick Dill to step up and slot in an excellent penalty.

Minchinhampton continued to dominate proceedings with Jake Muskett supplying a quick ball to centres Stu Allen and Chris Brookman who scraped their way through the Service backline.

Hit-and-miss tackling from the home side allowed the visitors to score a converted try.

Allen rampaged up field and barged over for a try, converted by Dill.

Minchinhampton were high on confidence and looked to attack at every opportunity, with accuracy in the lineouts allowing Brookman to power over for their second score.

Straight from the kick-off of the second half, Service scored their second try but this was the last chance of the game for their supporters to cheer.

Ian French went close to scoring a solo try before a big drive allowed the number eight to break down the blindside and score a try, with Dill again adding the conversion.

Muskett used his boot to bombard the Service defence and Rich Humberstone took advantage of the havoc to cruise in for the game-sealing score.
