Richmond were made to fight all the way to preserve their perfect start to the season at Westcombe Park. In an enthralling clash that belied its top- versus-

bottom status, Park deservedly picked up a losing bonus point from a performance that will give them huge encouragement for the remainder of the

campaign. That will be of no consolation, though, to left wing Kieran Leeper who scored a hat- trick yet still could not prevent the league leaders making it

nine wins from nine – a feat matched by second- placed Worthing.

The Raiders were in destructive mood against a Lydney side that was blown away in the second half. The Forest of Dean outfit only trailed by two points on

the stroke of half- time but they could do nothing to stop the Raiders after the break and conceded a total of 12 tries – three of them to Alexander Nielsen.

Full- back Matt McLean helped himself to a personal haul of 30 points.

Hartpury College head the chasing pack after being one of the three sides to win away from home– the others being Richmond and Dings, who made it two

wins in a row thanks to a 24-17 victory at Southend. Dan Norton was the Hartpury hero with four tries.

Old Albanians, Clifton and Redruth also passed the half century mark in bistopped the rot with their first win in five games with victory over Henley.
