Phil Chesters kept up his remarkable try- scoring form with a hat- trick in Ealing’s 46-15 win at home to Blaydon. Chesters has now scored 16 tries in Ealing’s

perfect start to the season which sees them 11 points clear of Fylde at the top of National League One.

Fylde ended a run of three straight defeats after coming out on top in an entertaining game against Tynedale. Eleven tries were scored in total, four of them

going to the home flanker Evan Stewart on his return from injury.

There were plenty of tries elsewhere, an average of eight being scored per game across the division. Cambridge scored five tries in the second half to help

them to a 49-20 win at Birmingham & Solihull. The win puts them level on points with Fylde, while Blackheath are just a point further back in the table in fourth

after they managed to turn around a four- point interval deficit to beat Barking at the Rectory Field. Meanwhile, Birmingham & Solihull have been deducted

five points by the RFU for an administrative error.

Coventry’s momentum up the table continued thanks to a 36-25 home win against Macclesfield; Fergus Mulchrone being unable to prevent the Blues slipping

to a third straight loss despite scoring a brace of tries.

Elsewhere, Jersey defeated Sedgley Park in a game marred by six yellow cards, Nev Codlin’s late try proved decisive for Cinderford against Stourbridge and

Rosslyn Park made it four wins in a row at home to Wharfedale.
