Your News Buckingham 52 - Swanage & Wareham 10

Swanage & Wareham travelled away to Buckingham in their latest South West 1 fixture, with several changes to their line up due to injuries and unavailabilities.

Swans were soon in trouble as Buckingham scored a couple of early tries to go 10 –0 up, but worse was to follow as Swans lost their captain to a calf injury after 15 minutes. Almost immediately Buckingham added a converted try to go 17 – 0 in the lead. Charlie Rowberry pulled a penalty back for Swans, but before half time the home side had increased their lead to 24 – 3 at the interval.

Swans disappointing play continued into the second half and with the tackling not going in, the home side had a field day. Two further tries by Buckingham had them 38 – 3 ahead within fifteen minutes of the restart and five minutes later they were a further seven points up. However as Swans at last put some play together winger Charlie Rowberry scored a try close to the posts, a try which he converted himself taking the score to 45 – 10 with ten minutes to go. This was enough time for Buckingham to score another converted try to claim the victory by 52pts – 10pts.
