Your News Weymouth 17 - Swanage & Wareham 3

WEYMOUTH went top of Dorset & Wilts One South with a 17-3 victory over reigning champions Swanage & Wareham Seconds at Mon-mouth Avenue.

The Seasiders have won all four of their league matches to date but only head the table by virtue of points difference.

Vice-captain Mark Sample was delighted with Saturday's commanding display. He said: "It was a fantastic win. We dominated the game from start to finish and didn't allow them to play at all.

"Swanage scored a penalty late in the first half but they didn't threaten our try line during the entire match.

"It was a good all-round performance from us but one of the keys was Craig Gelderd who stole so much possession in the line-outs.

"We're still unbeaten and although we've stuttered a bit in some of our games, we delivered a performance against Swanage & Wareham and there's a real buzz around the club."

Craig Barter got the ball rolling for the Seasiders when he ran from his own 22 to the opponents' try line and touched down for a score which Sam Polley converted.

Barter then played a part in setting up skipper Tony Worle, who crashed over the line for another try con- verted by Polley.

And the Weymouth scoring was complete when Polley successfully kicked a penalty opportunity.

n Weymouth Seconds lost their Dorset & Wilts Three South encounter at Swanage & Wareham Fourths 10-0.
