Your News Leeds set for Doncaster clash

Leeds Carnegie will take a much changed side to Doncaster on Wednesday night for their second game in the British & Irish Cup.

Diccon Edwards has retained only four players from the squad that won at London Scottish in the Championship last Saturday with David Young, Dan Hemingway, Pete Lucock and Dan White all promoted from the bench to the starting line up to face Doncaster.

Leeds have brought in a number of trialists for the game with the Knights including second row Ben Morris from Blaydon, Steve Costello from Otley and former Rugby League player Jack Latus, who is on trial having played Rugby League with Hull KR and Hunslet after starting out in the Leeds Carnegie Academy from his school days at Hymers.

Commenting on the squad, Head Coach Diccon Edwards said, Wednesdays game will be a good challenge for us. There are number of first team squad members who will be looking to press their claims for a place in the Championship side as the likes of Chris Walker, Richard Beck and Tommy Bell did in our last game in the British & Irish Cup against Rotherham.

The rules of the competition allow us to bring players in on trial and I am sure they will benefit from the experience of playing with us and we get the chance to have a look at them, added Edwards.
