Swans visitors to Bestwall on Saturday were Olney, from Buckinghamshire, who were situated

close to the bottom of the league, and as it turned out, one could see why.

Although Swans started by giving away three penalties at the beginning of the game, after ten minutes an inside pass to winger Charlie Rowberry had him scoring under the posts. Three minutes later a pass to Swans other winger Jon Blackmore had him racing down the wing to score half way out. Rowberry added both conversions (14 – 0) Swans were now throwing the ball out wide and Jon Blackmore went in for his second try. Swans second row forward Dan Collins picked up a ball on the half way line and with only the full back, shrugged off his tackle and he went in for his debut try for Swans 1st XV.(26 – 0). Charlie Rowberry added his second try after 25 minutes as Swans went into a 33 – 0 lead. Olney looked a very disjointed outfit, and Swans continued to press forward , and but for some handling errors could have piled on more points. However just before the interval from a scrum close to the visitors line they had prop forward John Sheldrake powering his way over the whitewash to take Swans into a 38 – 0 interval lead.

Swans seemed to go off the boil in the second half, possibly due to a couple of enforced substitutions, and Olney came back into the game. After about an hour Swans advanced their total by five points as centre Charlie Parish went over the try line (43 – 0). With ten minutes to go Charlie Rowberry went in for his third try, making it his second hat trick of the season, as Swans picked up their five league points.
