MIDLANDS pair Leigh Hinton and Tim Usasz have been included in the Barbarians squad for the Bill McLaren Foundation Match against South of Scotland at Hawick’s Mansfield Park ground on October 11.

Hinton, the much-travelled full-back who joined Rugby Lions from Leeds Carnegie during the summer, has been named in the backs in the invitation club’s squad along with Usasz, the Nottingham and United States scrum-half.

They are among eight nationalities in a cosmopolitan Barbarians side that will be coached by former England coach Brian Ashton, who is now technical director of National One club Fylde.

There are two Georgians and two Romanians in the Barbarians squad plus Dutch winger Seb Visser, whose brother Tim scored two tries for the club against England in May.

Edinburgh full-back Jim Thompson will also play in the match which commemorates his late grandfather. Legendary rugby commentator Bill McLaren died in January 2010 and the Foundation, a charitable trust, has been set to up for the development of rugby and its values.
