Your News Minchinhampton 26 - Cheltenham Civil Service 2XV 3

On a scorching hot day Hampton took to the field confident after recent performances however due to an injury to a Civil Service front row in the warm up the game would begin with uncontested scrums. This did not deter Minch who made a strong start with a substantial amount of pressure in the oppositions half, however small errors stopped them from crossing Civil Services line. The deadlock was broken 10 minutes in after Rich Humberstone beat one defender then regathered his chip on to score a superb individual try. Minch were now flying and strong running from Chris Brookman and Niall Kimber saw them break numerous tackles in attack. Hester shortly went over for his fifth try of the season, which he duly converted from out wide. Civil Service came back at Minch with some nice play of their own resulting in a penalty in front of the posts which their veteran fly half slotted through the uprights. Minch came back stronger and Brookmans great lines of running paid off after he broke through the defence and run in a try from 30 metres out.

After an extended break due to the heat Minch continued to work hard in the loose with some excellent ball carrying from Rich Wood and Matt Gingell. Civil Service rang the changes and began to move the ball wide, however Hamptons defence stayed strong and refused to be broken. Minchs great running rugby was rewarded after great hands from Stu Allen aloud Chris Trim to go over in the corner for Minchs fourth try of the day, Hester converted. Minch ended the game as they started, on top and dominating possession and territory unfortunately they couldnt add to their tally but will be pleased with a great team performance and extending their record to played 4 won 4.
