Your News Sevenoaks endure tough start

On Saturday an opening 1st XV league fixture against last year's league runners-up and Twickenham cup finalists Aylesford was always going to be a tough task, and so it proved. Aylesford played an uncomplicated game but had too much power on the day and ran out 33 - 10 winners. Go to for pictures from the match.

There was better news for the 2s, however, for whom a late Simon Tree try secured a 12-6 victory against the same opponents, although there was no such luck for the Acorns, who also finished second in a pre-season friendly against a combined Aylesford 3s and Vets team.

This Saturday the home league season begins with the visit of Tunbridge Wells. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd XV's all have matches at the Paddock, so come and cheer the lads on in what promises to be tough encounters. 15h00 KO at the Paddock

Season Opening BBQ - Saturday 17th September

For those wanting something less formal, as well as the Supporters Lunch there will be a BBQ before and after the game, so be ready to celebrate the season opener at the Paddock with an afternoon of great sport, good feasting and a few pints of Kent’s finest.

Rugby World Cup

A great and, at many times, subdued (but ultimately very relieved) crowd of English and Springbok supporters enjoyed the opening matches of the RWC with the new big screen and another screen in the bar area. We will be screening all the key Rugby World Cup games on Saturday and Sunday mornings with breakfast (to go with the Guinness), so make the clubhouse your venue of choice as you follow your team’s fortunes in the best of all rugby tournaments.

Future screenings are:

Sat 1st Oct at 08h00 – England v Scotland

Sat 8th Oct at 08h00 – Quarter Finals

Sun 9th Oct at 08h00 – Quarter Finals

Sat 15th Oct at 08h30 – Semi Finals

Sun 16th Oct at 08h30 – Semi Finals

Sun 23rd Oct at 08h30 – FINALS

The match on Saturday 1st October has particular significance in that we will be supporting the Wooden Spoon (, an organization that helps disadvantaged children through sport – a most worthwhile organization and one to which the Club is closely connected.

Anyone coming down early on a Sunday is asked to park in the town in the car parks between Tesco and the Leisure Centre and then walk down to the Club. We are having severe difficulties with junior rugby parking and any help would be appreciated.
