Northern trio Macclesfield, Sedgley Park and Fylde are the early pace- setters in National League One with all three sides boasting perfect records from the

first two rounds of action.

Macclesfield gained their second successive bonus- point victory with a six- try triumph at Stourbridge, fly- half Ross Winney helping himself to 24 points,

while Park also made it 10 points from 10 despite incurring the wrath of referee Richard Kelly. Tigers played virtually the entire last quarter of the game down

to 14 men following the award of yellow cards to Richard Oxley and Adam Lewis, but Tynedale were unable to make any inroads into the home sides 22-10

lead. Fylde had to battle hard to keep their unblemished start intact, winning 34-36 against Cinderford, who at least had the consolation of picking up two

bonus points from the game following a second try from Lloyd Stapleton with time nearly up.

Ealing and Rosslyn Park are the only other sides to have won both their opening games, Park impressively shutting out last seasons title contenders Barking

at Goresbrook for a 0-19 victory. Ealing, though, had it much tougher as it took a last minute try from Sam Wardingley against his former club to see off

Elsewhere, Blaydon ran in two tries in either half to see off Cambridge, Jersey fell just short of maximum points in a 33-3 win at home to depleted Birmingham

& Solihull and Wharfedale celebrated playing their 500th league game with a bonus- point victory against Coventry.
