AUG

The season started for the 1st XV last Saturday with a well-earned 26-22 victory against Medway in the first round of the Kent Cup and continues this Saturday with a friendly against Maidstone.

Next Saturday (3rd September) a combined 1s and 2s squad will travel to Romford for two games and then the league starts on 10th September with an away game v Aylesford. The following Saturday (17th September) is the first home game v Tunbridge Wells with the local derby promising to be a real cracker. There will be the traditional Supporters Lunch at the Club as well as a BBQ before and after the game, so be ready to celebrate the season opener at the Paddock with an afternoon of great sport, good feasting and a few pints of Kentís finest.

Attached is the full 2011/12 Season Fixture List and Social Diary, so get your pens out and make sure that your diary is properly marked.

Please note that we will be screening all the key Rugby World Cup games on Saturday or Sunday mornings with a new BIG screen and full English breakfasts (to go with the Guinness), so make the clubhouse your venue of choice as you follow the fortunes of England and South Africa as they advance inexorably to a dream final!

New Sponsors

It is with huge gratitude that we are able to announce that all of last year's Sponsors have agreed to support us again for the season 2011/12, with Jackson Stops & Staff again the main Club sponsor.

We are also delighted that two new Sponsors, namely Advanced Physio Therapy (www.advancedphysiocentres.co.uk) and Welham Jones (www.welhamjones.co.uk) have very generously agreed to support SRFC, so we now have a total of 30 Sponsors.

Without the financial commitment of our Sponsors we would not be able to offer the facilities for so many players and supporters to enjoy the game of Rugby Football. The Club website is currently being updated and all Sponsors will be appropriately advertised, so would all members please reciprocate by supporting them whenever possible.

Training

Training is at the Paddock every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 19h00. There will also be specialist fitness input at training. All players from all the senior teams are welcome and encouraged to attend.
