Yarnbury RFC are celebrating their 40th year in existence this season (2010/2011) and are already gearing up to attract new interested players and families for the new season with the appointments for the new season impressive!

Ex Junior and first team captain (1993/5)Paul Marshall an impressive touch tackling and speedy back row who always led by example. He will be assisted by Steve Lee another first team captain (97-99) and scrum half who not only had county and North East honours at schoolboy and Yorkshire level but is now a Championship Referee who will be in charge of such games as Leeds Tykes this season!

Both men who have over 70 years service at Yarnbury are bullish about organising the 300 or so juniors from Age 8 to 18 and all the coaches are Level 1,Tag and Rugby Ready approved according to Paul. Also Yarnbury Senior Coach and England Under 20's Coach Bob Hood will oversee and mentor the junior coaches who obviously have all the formal CRB checks that legislation requires nowadays.

The Yarnbury Club is an RFC (a founder member of English Rugby Union) and founded in 1870's and was one of a few Yorkshire Clubs to open up to juniors 40 years ago alongwith the likes of Huddersfield,Otley and Morley.Because they operate throughout al age groups they are attracting youth from all over the country and Paul and Steve are encouraging expansive play with heart and passion but enjoyment also to help the kids develope naturally.

Parents are also encouraged to get involved and some games will be arranged as curtain raisers for the senior sides on saturday's.All interested families are welcome and should contact Paul marshall on 07711648704 or through
