MIDLANDS Under-20s will face Irish opposition for the second time in a week when they host the Ulster Academy Under-20s at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry on Friday August 12 (12 noon).

Midlands drew 21-21 with the Irish Exiles Under-20s in an entertaining tussle at Moseley yesterday despite being handicapped by late withdrawals.

The Midlands made 15 changes to the squad that was on duty for the England Counties Under-20s trial match against the North at the end of last season but they built a 14-7 half-time lead with tries from the Warwickshire pair of centre Robert Knox and scrum-half Oscar Heath, both of them converted by Dave Weston of Leicestershire.

The Exiles levelled the scores just after half time but the Midlands regained the lead with a penalty try which Weston converted.

The Exiles snatched the draw with a late try which was converted by Caolan Ryan of Moseley and North Midlands.
