Your News Doncaster sign Jack Yeandle

Brett Davey announces his 3rd capture in as many days as 21 year old Jack Yeandle steps up to Championship competition. The 61 18st Hooker has put pen to paper on a deal that will see the England Students Hooker Move from the Welsh Leages to the English Championship.

Jack is a product of the excellent setup a Crediton RFC, a Devonshire side of excellent reputation from the tribute Cornwall and Devon League. Moving on to UWIC RFC Jack continued his development of representative honours by moving up from the County Championships with Devon to England Students at Hooker.

Uwic finished 5th in the SWALEC Leagues Division 1 West this season, although equal on points with 4th placed Bonymaen and also made it the BUCS Final at Twickenham this year losing out narrowly to Durham University.

When asked about the signing Davey gave these comments , There is no doubting that jack is a big boy, but there is a lot more to this signing than that. His coach at UWIC alerted me to his potential and it was an easy recommendation to take as he was my coach previously. Jack will give us a balance at hooker with his size and strength but do not underestimate the hunger to learn this young man has. he continued We cant expect Steve Boden to play 30 consecutive games for us, so now we have a different option to come off the bench with Jack.

During the interview Davey also confirmed the Squad status of Scrum Half Nathan Jones. We had offered Nathan deal early on, but did not have the budget to come to an agreement. Nath had another offer to look at so didnt get back to us right away and now unfortunately we are too far down the road with other signing to make Nathan another offer.. As always the club would like to wish Nathan jones all the best in his future efforts.
