Your News Doncaster Knights player signs

PJ Gidlow, an outstanding player for Doncaster Knights in the RFU Championship 2010/11 season, has put an end to the speculation about his contract by signing on for next season as of today.

Gidlow, who can count Rotherham, Birmingham and Solihull and Redruth as his previous clubs was sorely missed at the end of last season as a broken arm kept him out of the Knights’ play off campaign. His on field presence and ability to steady the line was notable for it’s absence highlighting what a key player the Samoan Centre had become at Castle Park.

Commenting on the capture of Gidlow’s signature Brett Davey outlined his plans for the player. “ Most importantly I value Gidlow’s rugby brain. While his defensive capabilities and his physical presence is a bonus for us, his skill with the ball in hand and his unpredictable attacking style is where I see his value. Too many people see the tough tackling South Sea Islander and fail to see the skill a player like PJ can give to a side” Brett continued “ Without a doubt PJ had a successful season for Doncaster in 2010/11 but I believe he has more to give and I want him to achieve that, I see him as a key piece in the jigsaw for next season and I'm delighted I can rely on his services.”

Season tickets for the Knights’ 2011/12 campaign are now available from the club at no increase on last seasons prices, www.drfc.co.uk for more details.
