Yarnbury 15 - Huddersfield YMCA 45 - Yorkshire 2 league

Yarnbury bruised and battered last week safely placed in fourth needed to recover quickly for this reorganised fixture with a Huddersfield side needing only a point to secure promotion from the division.Yarnbury had several key players missing through injury and unavailability such as scrum half Oliver Cashman.stand off Carl Paterson and centre Jason Avison but rejigged the back line with Mark Dixon moving to scrum half from the wing,Ian Bartlett coming into stand off and Graham maycock moving upto centre and colt Alex Crowther taking the full back spot.

After early Huddersfield pressure Yarnbury backs shipped the ball confidently left in their own half for Graham Maycock to put away winger Chris Flowers for a supurb try and this was followed by a similar move down the right flank back in from Mark Dixon to winger Lawrence Smith for Adam Malthouse to score near the posts but both went unconverted.Yarnbury's luck deserted them with the second miss which hit both posts and came out.

Huddersfield are a confident winning side and took the ten point deficit in their stride well led by the returning Neil Walker at the back of the scrum and took the lead in the second quarter coming back with tries from scrum half Simon Wilson out wide right after good interpassing and just before half time through Adam Rider with a clean break in the centre. The luck was with the opponents with two conversions one off both posts!

Huddersfield increased the pressure in the second half not helped by several crutial injuries to Yarnbury forwards Ian Maycock and flanker Richard Longstaff and a head cut to centre Steven Riley and were well beaten at the finish with hat tricks for both centres Adam Rider and Alex Shore but not before Yarnbury came alive again attacking down the left for wing forward Joe Mills knocking off two defenders and twisting and turning to ground the ball for Yarnbury's third try.
