Your News Millwall to travel to Norfolk for play off

MILLWALL will travel to Norfolk later this month in a make or break play-off with Eastern Counties high-flyers Holt.

A coveted place in London Division 3 is at stake in coach Dave Roberts' last game in charge of the Isle of Dogs outfit.

Roberts, who saw his side triumph 28-10 in their last league game of this term at Old Cooperian's on Saturday (April 9), hopes to bow out in glory.

Millwall go to Holt for a crunch game which could see the east London club make a historic leap into semi-national rugby union.

Roberts said: "We will be facing Holt in Holt on either April 23 or 30 and we are expecting a very tough, physical battle.

"Eastern Counties teams have done well in the cup and will obviously provide a great challenge to us."

Roberts, who has taken Millwall from bottom of the table to promotion hopefuls in two seasons, confirmed he was stepping down as coach at the end of the season.

He said: "I would like to thank the first team players for providing a great season for Millwall.

"This will be my last game as their coach and I hope everyone enjoyed the success over the last two seasons."

Meanwhile, Millwall's fourth team lost out in a hotly contested Plate Final against Old Brentwoods' thirds at Southend Rugby Club on Saturday.

And "international" rugby comes to Millwall this Saturday (April 16) as the club plays its annual "England versus The Rest Of The World" game.

The inter-club match, which pits its homegrown players against its foreign imports, will take place on Millwall's training paddock at Mudchute Farm from noon.
