Your News England Students make 4 changes to team to face France in Versailles

England Students have named their team for the third and final match of the season away to France Universities in Versailles near Paris on Saturday (March 26, 3pm local, 2pm UK time).

University of Exeter flanker Tom Sargeant will captain England Students for the first time in a side showing four changes to the starting line-up from the 29-25 defeat to Portugals national side on March 5.

University of Liverpool prop Mohammed Mustafa, University of Bristol lock Luke Bellinger, University of Bath fly half Paul Roberts and Cambridge University wing Fred Burdon step up from the bench to replace Sam Lockwood (Leeds Metropolitan University), Richard Boyle (Northumbria University), Chris Reakes (University of Exeter) and Ed Styles (Loughborough University) respectively.

Three players new to a match squad this season Barney Purbrook (University of Bristol), Jamie Fleming (University of Exeter) and Ed Tellwright (UWIC) are included in the replacements with Loughborough University back row Mike Macfarlane having joined Lockwood and Styles on the injured list.

France Universities will be looking for revenge after being defeated 25-23 by England Students in their first meeting this season, at Richmond FC four weeks ago (February 25).

England scored three tries to two by the French in that match but then lost captain Will Warden (Loughborough University) to the effects of appendicitis, and University of Bristol centre Tom Mitchell was the skipper against the Portuguese.

Tom Sargeant was vice captain against Portugal, he has shown leadership qualities throughout these matches and he deserves his chance to lead the side, said Pete Drewett, England Students team manager.

We see this is one of those great opportunities in international rugby, a rare chance to play a team again for the second time in four weeks.

Each side knows plenty about the other one, and we have been studying the video from the first match to look at what we can work on.

Clearly it will be a massive challenge for us to take on the French on their own patch, on the basis of a very close first game between us in Richmond.
