Your News New League a big step up (Sunday Independent - Frank Stormont report)

Last season Albion were forced to accept just a handful of matches after numerous short-term cancelations, but this season are looking forward to playing at least 18 games.

The newly-formed Western Counties West League covers, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset and matches will be played on a Sunday afternoon.

This will be a big step up for the squad and while some summer training has been taking place at the club, training for real starts this week. Registration evenings take place on Tuesday and Friday, from 6pm until 7:30pm, for new and returning players of all levels and experience and will be held on the top pitch at the Brickfields complex.

The club are happy to give anyone a try-out to see if you like it, so why not turn up and have a go ?

Jess Veacock, who last season was playing for Albion girls's under-16, will be moving up to the under-18 side after turning 16 last month.

She does not limit her rugby to playing over the past few months she has been training to take on the unenviable role of a referee with the Devon Society and will be taking her final assessments later this month.
