Maggie Alphonsi, the England Womens flanker who is Talent Development Officer for the RFUW in London & South East, has named the regions team for their second match of the senior divisional programme against the Midlands at Banbury RFC on Sunday (March 6, 2.30pm).

The London & South East won their inaugural match in the reorganised RFUW Divisional Programme against the South West at Newbury on February 13 by 15-5 with tries by Natalie McClarnon, Tina Lee and Hannah Gallagher.

This weeks squad includes three members of the England U20 Womens side that defeated France U20 at Worcester last weekend: scrum half Fiona Davidson, fly half Emily Scott and flanker Hannah Gallagher.

Alphonsi said: This should be an exciting battle against a Midlands team who, like us, won their first match three weeks ago.

We have made some changes within our wider squad of 30 players, as the aim of the programme is to give everyone an opportunity to show what they can do.

London & South East do not just select from Premiership sides, as shown by the presence of Claire Phelps and Kate Hodgkinson from the Lakenham Hewett club in Norfolk.

Operating in three bands seniors, Under 18s and Under 15s the RFUW Divisional Programme comprises club players who are put forward by their constituency body and it leads towards possible inclusion in the senior England team or places in the U18 and U15 National Talent Development Groups.
