Your News Scrum Factory heads to West Midlands

TWELVE Scrum Factory workshops will be held across the West Midlands in the coming weeks.

The Scrum Factory has been specially designed by Graham Smith and Matt Ferguson, with the help of former England prop Graham Rowntree, to encourage quality scrummaging at all levels of the game.

The Scrum Factory also aims to demonstrate good practice and introduce the latest developments in scrum coaching and increase confidence in coaching the eight player scrum.

A busy schedule of workshops across the West Midlands will begin at Barkers’ Butts RFC near Coventry on March 7 (7pm) and continue at Claverdon RFC on March 9, Burton RFC on March 16, Dudley Kingswinford RFC on March 16, Nuneaton OE RFC (March 22), Keele University (March 28), Birmingham University (March 30), Upton on Severn RFC (April 4), Aston OE (April 4), Luctonians RFC (April 6), Newcastle-under-Lyme RFC (April 6) and Camp Hill RFC (April 13).

The cost of each session is £15.50 per coach and places must be booked in advance.

Coaches should bring along players who are interested in scrum technique – eight players per coach. Players attend free of charge but those participating in the Scrum Factory should be aged over 12.

The workshops are practical sessions and attendees should come dressed to take part.
