MILLWALL got their promotion bid back on track with a thumping 44-13 victory over Essex Division 1 rivals Dagenham on Saturday.

The Isle of Dogs club now sits in third position in the league with games in hand following the win on Millwall Park.

James Reilly and Adam Shields both touched down two tries while Naz Mohammed and Jurijus Ivanovas also ran in scores.

Sean Russell made a welcome return to the back row while Adrian Dench made his debut for the first XV at scum-half.

Coach Dave Roberts said: "We played very well, right across the pitch.

"We had a solid defence, combined with a positive speedy attack that Dagenham simply could not find a way to stop.

"The guys bound together really well and came out with some really exciting rugby.

"It was great to see some of the training come together."

Roberts also praised the kicking of Dom Sutherland, adding: "Dom delivered the right ball to allow the backs to hit the right channels to get across the line.

"This was one of our better performances of the season."
