Your News Triple boost to Moseley back division

Moseley has pleasure in announcing the signing of three new players to bolster its back division.

David Bishop (Centre from Edinburgh), Christopher Bishay, (Wing from Harlequins) and Joe Munro (Centre from Loughborough Students) all join the Billesley Common side in preparation for the last three crucial months of the season.

Joe made his Moseley debut against Swansea last Saturday in the B&I Cup and the club expects Chris to be given a run in the B&I Cup game against Neath this Saturday. David trained last night and will be available (subject to medicals) for the RFU Championship game against Birmingham & Solihull on Jan 29th.

Head Coach Ian Smith said The acquisition of these players brings a mixture of experience, proven quality and potential to our squad and should create some healthy competition for places in our back division to bring out its true potential.

David Bishop (Centre)

David, former Wales Under-21 centre, joins Moseley from Edinburgh having gained top level experience in the Guinness Premiership (Sale) and the Magners league (Ospreys).

Bishop, the elder brother of Ospreys and Wales centre Andrew, was a regular in his first season at the Liberty Stadium region in 2004/5. He suffered a fractured kneecap in a Magners League game at Munster early the following season, an injury that required two operations and ultimately kept him out of Ospreys reckoning for three whole years.

He returned to the Ospreys side in September 2008 against Glasgow, one of six appearances that season before moving to Sale Sharks where he made ten appearances last season. David has made a total of 30 appearances in the Magners League before becoming a victim of budget cuts at Edinburgh recently.

His senior debut for Wasps was similarly spectacular scoring a try in each of his first two 1st XV matches (2007 v Harlequins and London Irish respectively) and helped Wasps to win the Middlesex 7s the same season. He made a total of 11 appearances for Wasps in the Guinness Premiership before a shoulder injury required an extended break from the game.
