England back Olly Barkley looks set to complete a move to west country rivals Gloucester for the start of next season's Guinness Premiership. He looks to have signed a two year contract which will begin in the summer. Barkley will join a squad which is full of stars including former Bath players Mike Tindall and Iain Balshaw.

This will come as a massive set back for Bath who have already lost the services of Steve Borthwick who has signed a four year deal with London based club Saracens.

Barkley has not been considered for this season's 6 Nations so far as he has a court case hanging over his head from an incident which took place at team mate Matt Perry's wedding.

The 26 year old has been a key figure in Bath's good form in the Premiership this season and has been playing along side South African World Cup winning star Butch James. When he lines up next season he will be in a back line including England's new wing man, Lesley Vainikolo, Scotland's Chris Paterson, England players Mike Tindall, Iain Balshaw and Anthony Allen.
