Your News Reading 66 - Olney 12

After the recent weather had prevented the previous two fixtures and hampered training efforts, Olney travelled away to Reading with a changed side from their last fixture. As Reading had their Presidents lunch and their two New Zealander players making their final appearance for the Club their was tremendous support for the home side, and very little for the Olney players.

The first half saw the home side get into form and put thirty odd points to nothing on Olney before the half time whistle, simply from playing some hard attacking rugby.

Olney did however manage to comeback in the second half and play some good rugby themselves scoring two tries from back rows, John Robinson and Cameron Byrne, with one conversion by Mark Marwood. Though the Reading side continued to punish Olney by putting another thirty points on them, particularly taking advantage of the weakness shown by the Olney side around the fringes of rucks and mauls.

Olney have a lot to work on this week before playing the final fixture of 2010 at home on Saturday against Reading Abbey, though still sit in a a respectable fourth position of the league.

Tries; John RObinson, Cameron Byrne

Cons; Mark Marwood
