Your News Big games coming for Brackley this weekend

Brackley host Rugby St Andrews in Midland 3 East (South) league action on the last competitive rugby Saturday of 2010. Brackley need to rediscover the early season form and coherence which has been so sadly lacking the past few weeks as St Andrews are always formidable visitors to Fine Lady Fields although the home side will hope to replicate last seasons home fixture when Brackley took the honours in a 34-32 point match where the lead swapped hands many times during the titanic match. If such a feast of Rugby can be unleashed the following Saturdays fare will be tame by comparison.

Skipper Anthony Jones needs all his players to be available and to attend training on Thursday as the 1st XV need to end the year on a positive note and begin to redress the poor league standing. With the league programme post Christmas favouring Brackley with 8 of the 12 remaining league matches being at home the time is right to rediscover the home fortress mentality and make sure that we make Fine Lady Fields a difficult place to visit in Rugby terms and take every available match and bonus point.

The 2nd XV, who now have a new Captain in Matt Cooper will also be at home and will be hosting Harbury 2nd XV, Harbury are from neat Leamington Spa and we are hoping to make them a regular opponent as they are easier and closer to travel to than some Northampton sides.

Both matches will commence at 14:15hrs, post match there will be the Players Christmas court.
