The outcome of French club Brive's interest in Leicester Tigers' fly-half Andy Goode should be known by the end of the week. The Top 14 side have been interested in signing Goode for a couple of months and will be keen to add the Premiership's top points scorer to their squad. Their interest was first reported in a newspaper article in April which said that the player had agreed terms with the French club.

Good had made nearly 200 appearances for the Tigers in his career and he has another year left on his contract so this would mean that Brive would have to pay some form of transfer fee to sign the fly-half before the start of this season. Leicester would have cover if Goode was to leave. They have just signed Toby Flood from Newcastle and also have players like Aaron Mauger and Sam Vesty to play in the position. Flood seems to be the more likely choice though.

Brive finished 11th in last season's Top 14 competition and have signed former Tiger Christophe Lassucq as their new skills coach and this new interest may have arisen from the arrival of Lassucq to the Brive camp.

The French club resume pre season training on July 15th and have a couple of pre season friendlies before starting their new campaign in the Top 14 on the 26th of August.
