Your News Grewcock extends his stay at Bath

England international Danny Grewcock has decided to extend his stay at the Recreation Ground in Bath by one year, until 2010. The second rower, who has played 69 times for his country, is to be joined in the second row this season by Stuart Hooper, Justin Harrison and Scott Hobson for a place in the at lock for Bath.

Grewcock signed for the South West club after leaving Saracens in 2001 and has played 174 times in all competitions and winning the European Challenge Cup last season. Steve Meehan, Bath's Head Coach, said: "It's terrific that Danny has decided to stay on further season. He's in great condition and provides the squad with plenty of experience, drive and leadership. He represents perfectly the character of person we want at Bath and I'm sure he will continue to be one of the best performing locks in the Premiership."
