Your News Millwall 32 - Billericay 12

MILLWALL ran in five tries to triumph 32-12 over Billericay and pick up a bonus point in a bumper weekend for the club.

Saturday also saw both Millwall's second team and third team win on their travels with defeat for the fourths the only fly in the ointment.

The first team's victory over Essex Division 1 rivals Billericay was hailed by coach Dave Roberts, who said: 'We achieved everything that we wanted to do.

'We got the bonus point which was the most important thing to us.

'We tried a little too hard on a couple of occasions.

'But everyone was very determined.'

Wingers Chris Copping and Matthew Rowland and fly-half Mike Foulds all touched down while Gareth Williams and front row Dave Connors also ran in tries.

Ever-reliable Foulds successfully kicked three out five conversions and added to his tally with a penalty.

After the cancellation of their game with Westcliff II, Millwall's second team travelled across the capital for a friendly with northwest London outfit Finchley.

Roberto Pescador's men snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by overcoming a 25-5 half-time deficit to eventually win 52-54.

A hat trick of tries from Martin Ward and touch downs from Adam Clarkson and Dean Pickin saw off Finchley in the narrowest of victories so far this season.

The thirds won 22-33 away at Upminster III with tries from Al Bickerstaff, Mike Taylor and Aaron Redgrave.

Millwall's fourth team lost 5-34 on Millwall Park to Pegasus II.
